Mission Critical Web-Scale NoSQL Transaction Processing in Real-Time

In this talk, we will explore techniques for merging traditional database concepts (including immediate consistency and reliability) with the flexibility and high performance seen in NoSQL database systems. We will also describe real-time prioritization techniques for handling long running tasks like data migrations, backup/restore, data expiry etc. while continuously supporting a high level of transactional throughput at sub-millisecond latency for both reads and writes.

We will also describe how a database built using the above techniques is ideally suited for running services at internet scale. The ability to scale along multiple dimensions, e.g., SSD versus DRAM, a small number of high end servers versus a larger number of less powerful nodes, etc., is a pre-requisite to support a wide range of real-time applications. Aerospike's linear scalability, 100% availability, and high performance has enabled it to become the underlying component of many of the world's largest and most demanding real-time bidding networks today.
